KUALA LUMPUR: China-based storage security leader Huawei Symantec Technologies Co Ltd is targeting a 20 per cent growth in revenue by end-year for Malaysia. Huawei Symantec solutions manager for Asia Pacific-South Pacific region Alan Goh (pic) said the company posted a global revenue of US$300 million (RM962.11m) last year and for 2010, the company projects a 40 per cent to 50 per cent growth within its worldwide sales.

Huawei Symantec this morning launched two of its latest storage and security innovation products, known as 'Oceanspace' and 'Secospace' for the Malaysian market. First unveiled in Beijing earlier this year, the products will be offered locally via one of its appointed Malaysian IT distributors, ACA Pacific Technology (M) Sdn Bhd.

Oceanspace and Secospace are designed to help businesses reduce operational overheads in managing their investments within storage and security systems. ACA Pacific product manager Jay Chan said the partnership will ride on the current storage-and-security convergence trend that is hitting our shores, offering a total solution to businesses.

"We're targeting sales of RM1.5 million within the second half of this year," Chan told Mail Money, adding
that Oceanspace and Secospace are expected to contribute 20 per cent to Huawei Symantec in terms of revenue.
